A dated visual archive
Timelapse shows changes over a particular day, with available dates and frame information from the camera feed.
Freshness matters
Retrieving a file proves it was received. It does not, by itself, prove when the camera captured the image.
A useful complement—not another sensor.
Cloud, visibility and the passage of showers can be easier to understand with a view of the sky. Camera imagery complements measurements; it does not independently confirm rain at every nearby location.
Weather overlays should identify the source and observation time so their meaning remains clear.
