The measurement-to-screen journey
The headline is the count of non-null sensor values on public observations that passed DLW’s automated checks in the last 24 hours.
It is not a lifetime total, a visitor count, a forecast count or a number inflated by copying records into charts.
This is a rolling window. Older measurements leave the total as newly approved observations enter it.
The figures are read from the published ingest feed. The counter animates between returned values; it does not fabricate observations between updates.
“Validated” describes the outcome of automated quality checks. The measurement total is not a claim that each value was independently confirmed by another instrument.
The wider network includes selected neighbouring areas. Dorset comparisons apply their own geographic coverage rules.
